Ball Corporation began an overhaul of their corporate offices in 2019, including a new HQ and a revamped Packaging Office Center in Broomfield, CO. After completing multiple projects for Ball in the past, they asked for designs on a wall in the new lobby of their POC location, looking into incorporate actual product from the packaging division. In addition to designs, they wanted to know if the build could be completed as well.
Over the course of 12 months, dozens of iterations were designed and considered for how to best represent the packaging division in the new lobby, one was which a huge departure from the old design and layout from yesteryear. Designs ranged from going all in filling all of the available space with packaging, to multiple types with built in components, to settling in towards a scaled back design in the end that compliments the rest of the new architecture in the lobby. The team chose their new slim can as the product to be used, with over 1500 individual cans getting affixed to the wall, and then covered in glass to create a museum like presentation.
